Before you know it, your home will be sparkling and ready for spring! If you want an even deeper clean, check out my series on how to deep clean your home. But other days, you’ll be doing nothing more than cleaning your garbage disposal. Some days will be more involved (Like cleaning windows, sills, and window tracks). Use basic tools, and take it one step at a time. This spring cleaning checklist is big, but it’s also simple. Sweep/dust exterior entrances of home (Front porch, back porch, back patio, deck).Check batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.Vacuum all floors, paying special attention to corners and behind/under furniture.Run your dishwasher through a cycle with a cleaning agent.Vacuum insides of kitchen and bathroom drawers.Wipe down insides and outsides of kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors/drawers.Wipe down the inside and outside of refrigerator.Clean oven (here’s a good tutorial on how to clean your oven from The Kitchn).Vacuum upholstered furniture be sure to get between/behind cushions.Wash living area blankets, throw pillow covers.Wash bed pillows (check care label to ensure they’re machine-washable).Wash all curtains (Check care instructions some may need to go to the dry cleaner).Clean out dryer’s exhaust duct (you can order special tools on Amazon).Run washing machine through a self-cleaning cycle.Wash (or at least thoroughly dust) air vents.Dust light fixtures if possible, remove light globes and wash, inside and out.Okay, on to the spring cleaning checklist!
